The Brewery Inn
II
Inn, 1847, red brick with stone dressings, slate roof, coped gables and end stacks. Two storeys with ashlar flush quoins, raised band and flush surrounds to windows and door. Paired 12-pane sashes each side, 16-pane sash to first floor centre, all with hoodmoulds and hood on brackets over door. West end stack is dated LB 1847. Rear is painted and has sashes with hoodmoulds, not formally arranged, and hood on brackets over door.
Included as a little altered example of the brick and stone buildings of the C19 in Seend Cleeve. The deeds of the Inn record site bought by J. Brewer 1839, two cottages 'lately erected' sold to J. Hayden and converted to an inn in 1859 and the name Brewery Inn first mentioned in 1866.
