Details

HIGH PITFOLD 1. 5393 Hindhead Stable and Shelter Shed to east of Barn at High Pitfold Farm SU 83 SE 9/57 II GV 2. Early C20, by Lutyens. Two adjoining buildings with unified exterior treatment. Each has a high-pitched hipped swept tiled roof and an outer wall of large random malmstone with red brick dressings. The stable building to north is taller, of full 2-storey height and has one 3-light casement and a series of low, segment-headed windows, all on lower floor. The shelter shed is blank and has a red brick left return with a gate pier attached. Open at the back, it is of 3 bays with pegged, braced timber posts. The stable is red brick behind with gabled dormers and Dutch doors.
