GV II

Barn. Circa late C18. English garden wall bond brick. Plain clay tile roof with gabled ends and brick dentil eaves. 3-bay barn with cart entrances on front and back to central threshing bay. Central cart entrance with large doorframe posts and two tiers of ventilation holes in diamond patterns in brickwork. Similar front and back elevations and similar ventilation holes in gable ends; south west end has a window in the gable. INTERIOR: The door-posts are the posts of the two trusses of the central bay, while the end bays are entirely of brick. The trusses are of tie-beam and collar type with struts, two tiers of trenched purlins and intact common rafters; long straight wind-braces. Under the tie-beams the bays are divided by long curved braces.
