Terrace of 11 houses. c1842-9, altered. Yellow stock brick
with rusticated stucco ground floors and plain 1st floor sill
band.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and basements. 2 windows each; No.23 with
bowed 1-window corner treatment and 3-window return (2 blind)
to Gough Street. Nos 23-27, 31, and 41-45 slightly projecting.
Square-headed doorways with pilaster-jambs carrying
entablature-heads; overlights and panelled doors. No.23
entrance on corner with pilasters, fanlight, side-lights and
panelled door; round-arched entrance on return with
pilaster-jambs carrying entablature-head; fanlight and
panelled door. Architraved sash windows; 1st floor with
pediments and cast-iron balconies. Ground floor windows of Nos
25-43 with margin lights. Nos 29 & 37, architraved 1st floor
windows with segmental pediments and cast-iron balconies, 2nd
floor round-arched with architraves. No.23 with stucco
modillion cornice and brick parapet with stucco band; Nos 25,
27 & 31 modillion cornices with blocking courses. Others with
stucco cornices and blocking courses.
INTERIORS: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings with urn
finials to areas.
