GV II*
Town house. Mid C18. Incised stucco on probable rubble to front with plinth and moulded mid-floor string and 1st-floor sill string; slatehanging to upper part of right-hand return; very steep dry slate roof with sprocketed eaves over a moulded and modillion cornice; brick end stacks. Single-depth plan plus late C19 wing at right angles to rear right of centre. 2 storeys; symmetrical 7-window front. Original 12-pane hornless sashes with thick glazing bars; moulded 1st-floor sills over carved aprons with swags. Central pilastered doorway with central break to moulded entablature, panelled reveals with fielded panels and similar door with later glazed top panels. Rear wing has stone mullion bay window. INTERIOR: not inspected but former list description notes: good staircase with open string, turned balusters, moulded handrail and panelled dado. Panelled dado in hall, 2 ground-floor rooms with dentilled cornices and panelled dados. (The Buildings of England: Pevsner N: Devon: London: 1989-: 684).
