Warehouse. Probably early to mid C19; altered. Coursed sandstone rubble with large quoins to the rear (the front now rendered and painted), stone slate roof. Rectangular plan parallel to canal which bounds north side. 3 storeys with basement and attic, 5:1:1 windows. The 6th bay has 3-stage loading doorways (now altered and reduced as windows) with moulded jambs and chunky punch-dressed quoining, and a gabled dormer in the roof with an opening for a hoist jib; otherwise, the openings are vertical-rectangular windows with raised sills, plain surrounds and altered glazing, and those at top floor have low attic windows immediately over the lintels. Rear: 3:1:3 windows, with 4-stage loading doorways in the centre, all with plain surrounds but now reduced and altered as windows; otherwise, square windows on all floors (some blocked), plus attic windows like those at front. INTERIOR not inspected. Forms group with industrial building attached to south-east end (qv), with Manchester Road Canal Bridge (qv), and with canal wharf buildings on opposite side of Manchester Road.
