House, now divided into 2 as offices and shop. Early C19. White brick, painted at No.9, combined with flint on the lower part of the north gable wall of No.10; render to rear range. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar to front, 2 storeys to rear. An added top storey to the front range has a plain parapet and stone modillion cornice; a moulded stone band between the 1st and 2nd storey windows marks the original wallplate level; the rear slope of the earlier roof can be seen from the back of the building. 5 window range, arranged 2: 1: 2: with the centre breaking forward slightly. Sashes in plain reveals, with plate glass to the 1st storey and with a single vertical glazing bar on the 2nd storey. On the ground storey, No.9 has a C19 fascia with console brackets above a late C20 shop window in Oriental style; No.10 has 2 sashes, similar but larger than those above. All the sash windows have flat gauged arches. The central entry, up stone steps, has a recessed door in a segmental-arched brick surround with fluted Doric columns and a fanlight with decorative glazing. The rear range has 12-pane sash windows. A white brick gable end on the west has a later C19 single storey canted bay window with flat roof. INTERIOR: no features suggest an earlier date than C19. Brick and kidney flint to cellar walling. Moulded plaster cornices. Stair with ramped and wreathed handrail and ornate cast-iron balusters. The front and rear slopes of the former attics can be seen in the 2nd storey rooms.
