GV II
Boundary wall and gate piers to canal wharf. Probably c1800; altered. Rock-faced sandstone rubble in sloping courses with rounded coping and monolith gate piers. Approximately 15m long, both ends curved back towards the entrances to the yard, with a pair of gate piers at the right-hand (north) end. Approximately 2m high. Massive square gate piers, each with a chamfered plinth, plain cornice and unusual deeply-undercut cap. Forms part of important group at this wharf, including Nos 85 & 85A (the Wharfmaster's House and Toll Office, qv), the 3 warehouses (south, centre and north, qv) and the stable block on the north side of the yard (qv).
