House to the south west of
'The Headlands'
GV II
House. Late C17, refashioned in C18. Coursed rubble limestone with gritstone
quoins, coved eaves, moulded kneelers, coped gables, end ashlar ridge stacks and
concrete tiles. 'L' plan, with now roughcast gable to street. North elevation:
Two storeys, three bays, formerly with 2-light flush mullioned windows; heads
and cills linked by continuous bands, now generally blocked and altered, save
far east end ground floor, now restored. Tall C19 inserted openings with single
glazing bar sashes and fixed lights, set into flush stone frames. At west end,
inserted C18 surround with moulded architrave and key block, with C19 single
glazing bar sash window. C17 blocked 2-light chamfer mullioned window to cellar.
South elevation has two doorways, one C17 and blocked, with massive quoining
and lintel.
