Park Cottage
II
House, Dated 1719. Flemish bond red brick. Clay plain tile roof with gabled ends, Brick integral gable-end stacks. PLAN: Double-depth plan, with two principal rooms at the front and service rooms in an integral outshut at the back. EXTERIOR: !2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 3-bay south front. Cambered brick window arches, centre blind; 3-1ight casements, all but one missing; central doorway with cambered brick arch, door frame with arris moulding and plank door; small stone tablet above, raised and fielded, inscribed: 'GB 1719'. Roof at rear carried down to lower eaves of outshut, which has 2-1ight casements, plank door and stack over W side wall. INTERIOR: Left room has chamfered cross-beam with stralght-cut stops, simple wooden chimneypiece with cambered arch and two shelves on brackets. Winder stairs beside stack with plank doors with wrought-iron strap hinges. On first floor a re-used C17 deeply chamfered cross-beam with ornate carved stops.
