GV II
Farm outbuilding, incorporating the functions of haybarn and shippon.Late C18,with C19 alterations and extensions. Coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings,quoins, plain gables and a stone slated roof incorporating gabled wooden roof vents. South elevation;2 storeys,5 bays with single storey lean-to shippon on south side. 5 windows, irregularly spaced with stone frames and C20 window frames with hopper bases. Plain doorway to east end. East gable with 3 stone framed windows to ground floor,with C20 joinery and first floor loft doorway without shutter. West gable with 3 windows and 2 doorways with plain stone surrounds,one door and window to lean-to shippon. Single first floor opening,with shutter. North elevation with off-centre double doorway within quoined surround,now with C20 sliding gear,window and doorway to left and right. Interior not inspected. A substantial and complete farm outbuilding, closely associated with a high status vernacular house,and other listed C17 and C18 buildings. Listed for group value.
