1. 1291A RYDAL AND LOUGHRIGG RYDAL Nos 1 & 2 (Rydal Cottages) NY 30 NE 9/190 II GV 2. Probably built as a single dwelling, now 2 cottages. Yellow-washed roughcast slate roof with twin round chimneys and twin diagonal chimneys, 2 storeys L plan. A gabled wing to left (north) has one window on each floor with labels. Right hand wing has a lean-to porch with an arrow slit and a longer window on ground floor, and 2 windows above (a very small 3-light one over porch, others larger 3-light windows or 8-light, mullioned and transomed windows, all with small diamond leaded panes).
