GV II

Nonconformist chapel. 1820. Ashlar front with returns of pinkish-brown brick walls and red brick dressings and slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3 windows. Casement windows with margin-lights, round-arched at first floor, in full-height round-arched recesses, with springing bands. Large crowning pediment with date panel. Arched central entrance with radial bar fanlight and plank door. Left return has 15/15 sashes under flat arches to ground floor and 5/10 sashes with Gothic glazing to heads and brick arches at first floor. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: cost »1,600, raised mainly by subscription.
