Offices. c1903 with later shop, by Alfred Waterhouse. Red brick with terracotta dressings and granite faced ground floor. Slate roof Jacobean style.

High Holborn frontage (No. 335) five storeys and attic. Three window bays with two lights each under a gable with dormer and scrolled pediment. Irregular 12 bay return. Polygonal corner turret with pedimented loops, arched openings at fourth floor level and slated and lead pinnacle with gabled windows. C20 ground floor shop front. Transom and mullion windows; the second, third, and 4th storeys with pilaster and cornice treatment with enriched aprons below attic and third and fourth storeys.

No. 336 similar to No.335 with two storeys, four bay extension at north end with hall at first floor level with pedimented windows and bracketed parapet above, and added ground floor windows below. Segmental bowed entrances with Doric columns in antis. South elevation to Staple Inn with terracotta plaque dated 1901 between two windows at ground floor level, a four-light oriel over, the top storey having three square-headed lights in arched openings under a gable with slit light.

INTERIORS: not inspected.

SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached wrought iron railings to areas.

Formerly listed in the LB of Camden. Since 1 April 1994 Staple Inn has been part of the City of London.
