Walls, balustrade, gates and piers. c1857. Architect JJ Rowland for Thomas Packer Walter Butt. Ashlar shaped exedra to west of house with Tudor strapwork balustrading. Good iron gate with panelled piers to south-west, another gate to east. Balustrade extends as balcony to entrance from terrace, punctuated by steps to the yew avenue. Also extended to north-west corner and returned to house; incorporates on this section fine panelled ashlar gate piers with carved lions to capping (the lions have iron tails). All listed items at Arle Court form a good group.
