GV II

Pair of shops with a house in rear wing. Early C18, built over
a late C14 flint and brick wall. Extended to front early C20.
Brick with some flint. Pantile roofs, black-glazed to front,
of concrete to rear. 2 storeys and dormer attic; 5-window
range. 2 early C20 plate-glass shop fronts, both with central
entrances and curved glass. No.225 with 2 late C20 first-floor
casements, No.226 with 3 late C20 top-hung casements. Arched
passageway to Eden Place at rear at right of elevation. Gabled
roof with one C20 dormer left and a roof-light right. Internal
gable-end stack to north. Rear with C20 details. Cross-wing of
2 storeys and dormer attic. Whitewashed brick under pantile
roof. Late C20 details: door and 2 ground-floor casements, 2
first-floor casements. Sloping dormer in gabled roof.
INTERIOR: No.225 with a mid C18 moulded cornice to ground
floor. Cellar with parts of a late C14 flint and brick wall.
Upper floors not inspected.
