GV II

Pair of houses. Late C18. Gault brick. Colourwashed brick
except for south bay. Roof of black-glazed pantiles (No.81)
and concrete tiles (No.82). 2 storeys; 4-window range. No.81
to south has a deeply recessed entrance behind a screen of 2
unfluted columns and 2 pilasters supporting a Doric frieze. In
wall behind is a 6/6 flush-framed sash and a 6-panelled door
beneath a geometric fanlight. First floor lit through one 2/2
horned sash. No.82 is of 3-window range. Central C20 door set
within late C18 panelled reveals and under an 8-vaned fanlight
now without its glazing bars. Engaged reeded columns to the
doorcase support a fluted frieze and a moulded hood. One C20
2/2 horned sash right and left and 3 to first floor. Parapet
over entire elevation. Gabled roof hipped to south. Internal
gable-end stack to north and ridge stack to south.
