GV II

House now offices. Mid C18. Coursed sandstone with ashlar sandstone dressings; stone slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3-window range with wing to rear. Symmetrical facade. Chamfered rustication to the quoins, to the ground-floor openings and to the central first-floor window. Ground floor sill band broken by central doorway with 6-panel door and overlight beneath triangular pediment. First-floor sill band links the pedimented central window to plain surrounds of the outer windows. 1/1 sashes to ground and first floors. Second floor: projecting sills and ashlar surrounds to 3-light casements. Corbel table to moulded eaves cornice. Ashlar gable copings and end stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected, but known to contain shallow rake staircase with wooden handrail. Margin-glazed stair window with coloured glass. A small enclosure beneath ground-floor window to left of elevation has restored spear-headed railings.
