Vestry hall, boundary wall and railing. c1900. Red brick with ashlar dressings and slate roofs with a coped brick ridge stack. Baroque Revival style. EXTERIOR: plinth, polychrome banded basement, ground floor impost band. 2 storeys plus basement; 3 window range. Central entrance bay has a shallow semicircular oriel window with moulded bracket inscribed "Vestry Hall". Tripartite glazing bar sash divided by Doric columns. Frieze with keystones over columns, and dentilled wooden cornice. Below, stone steps with wrought-iron balustrades leading to a moulded round-arched doorcase with keystone, shouldered canopy and Ionic half-columns. Panelled double doors with glazing bar fanlight. On either side, a narrow single pane sidelight. Flanking bays have Doric flanking pilasters above the basement, and dentilled wooden pediments. On the first floor, a tripartite glazing bar sash with central double keystone, divided by Doric pilasters. Below, to left, a moulded round-arched 3-light window with glazing bar upper lights and double keystone. To right, a similar semicircular glazing bar window, and below it, a triple plain sash divided by brick pilasters with moulded caps. At the left corner, a square tower, 3 stages, topped with a square wooden cupola with balusters, cornice with breaks, lead dome and finial. Third stage has a slit opening on 2 sides. Left return, to Burcot Road, has to right a 2 bay gable, divided and flanked by Doric pilasters under a dentilled cornice, and topped with a closed dentilled pediment containing a round window with keystone. On the first floor, 2 triple glazing bar sashes divided by Doric pilasters. Below, 2 round-arched 3-light windows with glazing bar upper lights and double keystones. Beyond, to left, single storey hall, 6 bays, with battered buttresses to each bay and a square wooden roof ventilator with cornice. To left, segment-headed square porch with flanking buttresses and round-arched doorway with keystone. Recessed panelled double door with glazing bar fanlight. To right, 5 segment-headed glazing bar windows with moulded heads and keystones. Left gable has a graduated round-headed triple window. INTERIOR has central entrance hall with stone dogleg staircase and wrought-iron balustrade. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: outside, brick boundary wall with round cornered stone coping and rectangular piers, topped with a wrought-iron railing. To the front, a pair of gates flanked to left by a single gate. Left return has a smaller pair of gates.
