House. c1830. Ashlar with ashlar dressings and hipped slate roof with 2 square corniced stone stacks. Plinth and first floor band. 2 storeys; 3 window range. All windows are 12-pane sashes. Slightly projecting centre with a central window with moulded surround and cornice. Central Doric portico with dentilled cornice and door with overlight, flanked by single windows. Returns have 2 windows on each floor. Rear has round-headed stair window flanked by single windows, all blank. Below, a boarded door flanked to left by a boarded window and to right by a blank. INTERIOR not inspected. Ebenezer Elliot, poet and journalist, (1781-1849) lived here from 1834 to 1841.
