Includes: No.19 Bank House ST JAMES' STREET. Bank and attached offices. c1880, partly demolished mid C20. Brick with ashlar dressings, the left return and rear mainly rendered, with slate and felted roofs with large clustered coped side wall and ridge stacks, and smaller ridge stack. Tudor Revival style. Stone plinth, moulded sillband, string courses, moulded crenellated parapet. 4 storeys; 3 window range. Windows are mainly cross casements with moulded stone surrounds and mullions. Central canted 3 storey oriel window with its own blind arcaded crenellated parapet, under a shouldered square gable with a Tudor arched opening. At first floor level, a canopied niche with figure, flanked by single light windows. Beyond, on each side, a 5-light window. Above, similar fenestration with a central 2-light cross casement, with a framed relief panel above it. Above again, a central 2-light mullioned window flanked by single 3-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. Ground floor has moulded 4-centred arched doorway with panelled double doors and fanlight and nodding ogee gable. On either side, a 4-light window. Canted left corner has a canted stone 3-light oriel window on the first floor, with an elaborate traceried crest. Above it, a sundial. Below it, a plain 3-light window. Rebuilt left return has mainly late C20 fenestration, and to right a plain canted stone oriel window on the first floor. Partly demolished rear elevation has a central recess with 2 superimposed 3-light windows, flanked to left by three 2-light windows on the first and second floors. Ground floor has a central Tudor arched stone doorcase, flanked to left by a large 6-light window and to right by 2 small windows and a 2-light casement.
