GV II

Public house. Late C18. Deeply-coursed sandstone facade; limestone rubble, roughcast and dressed sandstone elsewhere; stone slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3-window range with wings to rear. Large quoins. Doorway to right of centre has painted ashlar surround. Flanking 8/8 sashes with projecting stone sills and painted surrounds. First floor: matching openings with leaded lights in transomed casements. Ashlar end stacks with bands. Left return: limestone rubble; sashes with glazing bars to ground floor. Right return: roughcast. Dressed stone wing to rear has 8/8 sash to each floor and hipped roof with rolled-lead ridges. INTERIOR: not inspected.
