Stable block, now Girl Guide headquarters, and attached garden wall and gateway. Late C18 and early C19, with mid and late C20 alterations. Coursed squared stone with hipped artificial stone slate roofs and two ridge stacks. Brick garden wall with stone facing. Quoins, dentilled eaves. U-plan around central yard.
EXTERIOR: main block, two storeys; five window range. Three two-light glazing bar casements to left. To right, a slightly projecting block with two reglazed single casements on a sillband. Ground floor has four blocked segment-headed carriage openings, the left one with a door and sidelights. To its right, a double plain sash, then a part-glazed door with a sidelight, then a square glazing bar casement.
Rear has three two-light flush mullioned windows. To right again, a single storey range with three segment-headed blocked stable openings. Single storey right range has a blocked opening flanked to left by a double door, and to right by a blocked window. To right again, a stable door, then a C20 door and window to a shop. Left wing has three tall round-headed recesses with a large central stable door flanked by single two-light casements.
INTERIOR not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached garden wall at the rear, enclosing a rectangular garden approximately 100 x 70 metres, has ramped slab coping. North side has pilasters and a moulded stone doorcase, early C18, probably reused, with keystone, scroll brackets and segmental pediment.
