GV II

Terrace of 3 houses. c1870s. Coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, ashlar axial ridge stacks and a pantile hipped roof. Free Tudor and Jacobean Revival style. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys; 3:1:2-window range. A concave near-symmetrical front has a continuous ground-floor label mould, modillion eaves cornice, central segmental through carriage arch between Doric pilasters to a modillion cornice. Tudor-style stone-mullioned and transomed cross windows, outer ground-floor 4-light windows, inner 3-light windows; first-floor half dormers with cyma-shaped gables to ball finials, and a central pair of cross windows with a central carved monogram, cartouche panel and pediment in a Dutch gable on scrolled brackets. Doorways to Nos 1 & 3 in the left-hand section and right-hand return respectively, have console bracketed shell hoods and 5-centred doorways with 6-panel doors, to No.2 within the archway has a console bracket flat canopy and 4-panel door. Rear elevation has projecting ranges flanking the carriageway, with dormers as the front. INTERIOR not inspected.
