Two storeys; five-window range, with label moulds over stone-mullioned windows with chamfered surrounds and either flat or arched heads. South gable has attached, crenellated octagonal turrets flanking a crenellated gable over a three-light two-centre-arched window with intersecting tracery, and a panel inscribed BOYS SCHOOL 1829; flanking aisles have blind lancet niches with hood-moulds, and corner square stacks. East front has flat-headed three- and one-light windows with label moulds, and a six-panel door to the left of the east wing. Wing has angle buttresses and a coped gable and finial, with hood mould over three-light window with intersecting tracery. Five-window range rear elevation to Church Street has three-light mullion windows with label moulds, and three-centre arched heads on the first floor.

INTERIOR: altered in conversion to house.

An externally complete and fine example of a National School in this style.
