School House
II
School, now house. Dated 1827, with mid C20 alterations. Built
by D'Ewes Coke. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings
and stone slate roof, now tarred, with single gable and single
internal wall stone stacks, both coped. Coped gables with
kneelers. Single storey plus attics; 3 window range. 3
chamfered 2-light cross mullioned windows and above, a central
gabled dormer with a 2-light stone mullioned window. Gable
end, to street, has an inscribed tablet with chamfered
surround and below, to right, a 2-light cross casement. To
left, a stone doorcase with heavy jambs and lintel, and C20
half-glazed door. Left return has to left a single storey
projection under a catslide roof. INTERIOR not inspected.
