Offices. c1872. For Sanderson Brothers. Brick with stone dressings and hipped Welsh slate roof, with single coped ridge and rear wall stacks. Boarded up windows mainly with brick flat arches. 2 storeys; 4 window range. L-plan. South-west front has a blocked central doorway with fanlight, flanked to left by 2 small windows, then a corniced Venetian window. To right, a single window. Right return has 4 windows on each floor. Left return has 2 windows and below, to left, a round-headed recess with keystone and flanking pilasters, containing a corniced Venetian window. To right, a blocked doorway. INTERIOR not inspected. Part of the only surviving large crucible steel works in Sheffield. Building vacant at time of survey. (Darnall Works 1835-1965: Sanderson Kayser Ltd.: 1965-; 400 years of iron and steel: Sanderson Kayser Magazine: 1969-1971; House of Saben Vol. 1, No 4, 1921 & Vol. 2 No 12, 1927).
