Canal lock. c.1800, for Rochdale Canal Company; now disused. Coursed squared sandstone. Chamber of 14-foot width, former pairs of gates now missing, weir inserted at upper end, C20 road bridge over lower end. Forms group with former cotton mills on Redhill Street. One of a series of 15 similar locks.
