GV II

Office. Dated 1901. Squared, coursed limestone, ashlar lateral stacks, slate hipped roof. Jacobean Revival Free style. Single-depth plan with lower S range. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Plinth, cornice and tall parapet; projecting gabled wing has a right-hand entrance with bracketed canopy and curved dwarf wall with ball finials, a round-arched ground-floor window, and 6-light mullion and transom ovolo-moulded first-floor window; escutcheon in the gable dated 1901. Bay flanked by similar first-floor 2-light windows at each end. A large prostyle Ionic porch in the left-hand re-entrant, with a round-arched entrance and steps up to a panelled door. Left-hand return has 3 ground-floor round-arched windows, and 2:4:2 first-floor cross windows, and a small pediment with inscribed panel. Large rear stair light with stained glass. INTERIOR: details include a rear stair with uncut string, moulded rail, square newels and ball finials; panelled doors and round-arched openings.
