GV II

Lace warehouse, now public house. 1895 and 1898. By AH Goodall of Nottingham for Boden & Co., lace manufacturers. Converted 1991-92. Brick with faience tile front, gables and hipped slate roofs with single ridge stack. Cornices to ground floor and second floor. Patterned frieze to first floor. Windows reglazed to resemble plain sashes. 4 storeys plus basement, 6:2 windows. Corner site, with angled corner and set back entrance bay. Main front has an off-centre round-arched doorway with keystone and double brackets to cornice, renewed panelled door and fanlight. To right, a 2-light window, and to left, 3 windows. Blocked basement openings. Above, 4 segment-arched windows, and to right, a 2-light window. Above, similar fenestration with flat-headed windows, and above again, similar fenestration with round-headed windows. Angled corner bay has a window on each floor. Left return, 2 windows, has similar fenestration. Set back entrance bay has a segment-arched cart entrance, with C20 glazed screen and 2 doors. Above, regular fenestration, 2 windows.
