Textiles warehouse. c.1870-80. Red brick with sandstone dressings, slate roof. Shallow rectangular plan on end-of-block site, parallel to street, with loading bay in right-hand return wall. Four storeys over basement, 9 windows; with punch-dressed plinth, channelled ground floor, sill-bands to all floors (that to 1st floor on a brick corbel table), and elaborate brick-bracketed frieze to prominent moulded stone cornice. Doorway at left end, with panelled double doors and elaborate stone overlight of 2 round-headed lights with small shaft and various enrichments, in a rectangular surround of carved square panels; windows sashed without glazing bars, alternate pairs coupled, those at ground floor with stone lintels under bands of small brick brackets, those at 1st floor with segmental arched heads enriched with stone imposts, keystones and hoodmoulds, and those on both upper floors with plain stone lintels. Segmental-arched basement openings with iron railings. Four-window return walls, the left in matching style with coupled windows in the centre, and the right with a segmental-headed loading bay doorway next to the rear corner, a very narrow tall doorway to the left of this, and segmental-headed windows to the upper floors. Small and little-altered example of textile warehouse, still functioning as such.
