Pair of shops, probably originally dwellings. Early C17. Timber-framed with plain tiled roof. 2 storeys with attic, 2-window range. Framed in square panels with close studding with middle rails to facade. Central arched passage entry with open-work decorative timber in the tympanum flanked by inserted plain shop windows with separate doorways to their right. Moulded bressumer to jettied upper storey, and 2 full-height projecting square gabled bays with bands of 5-light mullioned and transomed windows to first floor, and balustraded studs above and below the windows. 2-light windows to attic. Quatrefoil panels in gable apex. A substantially complete example, the balustraded studs in a distinctive local style.
