Includes: No.2 COMMERCE SQUARE. Warehouse, now offices. Early C19 and mid C19, restored and converted late C20. Red brick, partly rendered, with ashlar dressings and slate roofs with coped gables and 2 side wall stacks. Plinth, renewed wooden eaves cornice with corner breaks. 4 storeys; 5 window range. Square plan. Windows are glazing bar sashes, mostly original, with brick flat arches. Main front has to right a recessed block, 4 windows, with rendered front and regular fenestration. In the second bay, a 6-panel door with overlight. Projecting bay, to left, has a first floor sill band, single windows on each floor, and to its left, a rounded blind corner. Left return, 6 windows, has regular fenestration and a beaded 6-panel door with voussoirs. Rear, 2 builds, has 3 margin light sashes to left and 2 glazing bar sashes to right. Late C20 garage doors with cornice, flanked by 2 margin light sashes to left and a glazing bar sash to right. INTERIOR: extensively remodelled, has an original winder stair with stick balusters and ramped scrolled handrail. (The Buildings of England: Pevsner N: Nottinghamshire: London: 1979-: 231).
