Loggia in sunken garden, forming south end of terrace to west of Ledston Hall

Loggia forming south end of west terrace. C18. Hand-made brick with
dressings of magnesian limestone, and internal partitions of the same.
Square plan, projecting from the retaining wall of the terrace, forming its
south corner, Two round-headed arches to the west front and one in the south
return wall, with chamfered plinths, impost bands and keystones of limestone.
Flat stone copings to the parapet.
Interior: 2 cells with partition walls of rubble and brick vaults, a low
doorway between the cells and another with segmental brick head leading from
the left cell to an inner chamber, from which a round-headed doorway with
brick surround opens into a further chamber or passage (not investigated, but
probably communicating with cellar of house).
