Former house now school. South wing of c.1827 with some mid C19 alterations, north part addition before 1874, possibly by Alfred Waterhouse. South range of stock brick with slate roof having 2 tall brick chimneystacks. East front of 2 storeys, 5 windows. Mainly 12-pane sashes but central window has marginal glazing. Stuccoed Tuscan porch with marginal glazing to its door and mid to late C19 3 light canted bay to left. Giant pilasters at ends and dividing central bay. C20 dormer. South front has 3 cambered 12-pane sashes to 1st floor and ground floor has marginal glazed French window and contemporary Tuscan rendered bay with 2 12-pane sashes and 4 pilasters. End giant pilasters west front has 3 pedimented dormers with casement. 1st floor has 3 cambered 12-pane sashes (C20 windows replaced the 4th sash from the left). Central round-headed staircase window with later C19 glazing. Ground floor has 2 bays, the right hand one smaller with 3 cambered 12-pane sashes, the left hand one with 3 French windows. Iron balustrading and 5 mid C19 cast iron steps with elaborate cast iron urn motif balustrading. Central late C19 doorcase under stair window has wooden gabled porch. Circa 1850 north wing thought to be by Alfred Waterhouse. Stock brick with slate roof. Garden front has 3 storey gable with brackets. 2 cambered headed windows with marginal glazing. Ground floor has 2 tall windows with marginal glazing and C20 door with rectangular fanlight above. Each side has 2 storey wings with 2 windows, cambered with original glazing. East front has 3 cambered marginal glazed window gable and service doorcase. Interior has staircase rail of c.1827 with staircase with 2 turned balusters to each step scrolled tread ends and mahogany handrail with mother of pearl eye. Hall has swag design to cornice, 4 doorcases with 6 panelled doors and pediments with paterae and urns. Office has black marble fireplace with half columns, common room has mid C19 marble fireplace and marble fireplace to front room.
