WORTH THE STREET TR 35 NW (south side) 1/165 Lychgate about 25 metres west of Church of St Peter and St Paul

GV II

Lychgate. Circa 1888 by James Brooks, Timber frame on brick and flint base wall with plain tiled roof. Canted plan, with 2 bays on inner facade, three on outer. Shaped barge boards, moulded tie beams, inscribed at gable ends, and crown post roof. Turned baluster gates. The quality of construction, the fineness of mould- ing and the plan are above the normal run of C19 lychgates.
