Details
WHALTON WHALTON VILLAGE NZ 1381 (South side) 12/197 Walls opposite the Manor House and on west of Glebe Cottage GV II Former garden walls, C18 altered early C20. Coursed rubble with cut dressings. L-plan. Low roadside wall with slightly-raised coping ramped up at each end; in taller section at east end an ogee-arched chamfered doorway, which is probably re-set medieval work, holding an early C20 ornamental wrought-iron gate. Tall wall returning south has window near north end with re-set medieval tracery fragments.
