Timber-framed with wattle and daub and brick infill; pebble-dashed to front wall; gabled ends in C19 brick, incorporating remains of framing; double Roman tile roof; brick stacks. Originally a 3-room lobby-entry plan with 2 heated rooms to right; stack to left added C19. One and a half storeys, plus floored and part-used attic, in steep roofslope. The entrance front has two C19 gabled dormers with 2-light casements, above three 3-light casements and two C19 plank doors. The rear has a C19 gable, above various openings in mostly exposed framing; part of the rear wall has been removed at the centre, and the room extended under a slated lean-to roof. INTERIOR: mainly square-flamed partitions, with a lightweight framed transverse central partition at two levels; at the south end the spine wall is in brick. The centre room has 2 deep stop-chamfered beams and the small room to left has a C19 winder stair; the corresponding rear room has a straight-fight stair. The second entrance, to the right, gives to a small lobby, then small inner room with C19 winder stair adjacent to stack. Exposed principals, cut off above collar and with chamfered purlins, to roof; early rafters cut off above lower purlin level. Included as a substantially complete example of a C17 timber-framed house in this region; the C19 alterations have obscured the original plan form.
