Former vicarage, now house. 1846 with minor late C19 additions to rear. Architect George Devey and probably his first independent commission. Gothic revival style. Kentish ragstone, ashlar and red brick dressings, handmade red clay plain tile roof, timber bargeboards. Windows mainly stone framed and mullioned with hood moulds. 2 storeys, informal rectangular plan, asymmetrical composition. Front elevation has walls battered to level of splayed brick first floor band. Splayed ashlar plinth. Two gables, that to left higher. Diagonal offset buttress to left corner. To right, massive external chimneystack with irregular offset buttress, detached shafts with splayed bases. Central entrance with moulded four-centred arch and hood mould. Left (west) side elevation has first floor band and plinth as before. Rendered gable to right. Various chimneys; that to right with massive buttressed external stack; that to centre with low-level ashlar shaft. SW (right) corner canted with buttresses containing single light lancet and quatrefoil light in plinth. Rear (north) elevation has three gables; two bays to left are later additions above first floor level with tile hanging and timber casements. Single storey lean-to to right. Two pairs C20 french doors. Right (east) side elevation with gable to left, tile hung first floor to right as before. Canted ground floor bay window to right, pair of round-arched windows to centre. Interior has original stair with balustrade part-boarded, part with short thick plain balusters. Front left room has boarded ceiling, arched recesses flanking hearth with plain surround.
