Shop and office, formerly a house and shop. C15 or early C16 with later alterations. Timber-framed and rendered; plaintiled roofs. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; attic and cellar to part: on a corner site. The main part of the building has a gable facing Churchgate Street and was probably initially a medieval cross-wing associated with a hall range. If so, the hall was replaced by the present small 2-storey range in the early C19. 3 window range on the Churchgate Street frontage, all 16-pane sashes in flush cased frames; a similar 12-pane sash to the ground storey and 2 doors, one a 6-panel shop door with a rectangular fanlight over, flanked by 2 fixed windows with plate glass and heavily leaded fanlights. On the Guildhall Street frontage one 16-pane sash to the upper storey and a fixed window to the ground storey. Above the ground storey, a heavy moulded wooden fascia and cornice, presumably for a former shop front. INTERIOR: the corner range has main cross-beams and the dragon-beam to a former corner-post, all boxed in.
