Villa. Early C19, altered. Brick in Flemish bond, Welsh slate
roof. 2 storeys with basement in L-shaped plan (adjoining rear
of 2, Market Place q.v.). 2:2 bay west-facing garden front with
4-bay left return. Garden front: , 2 bays to left are set back
and have later verandah with decorative cast-iron stanchions and
frieze; part-glazed and panelled door within has wooden doorcase
with consoles and cornice; to left a tripartite sash window with
glazing bars beneath rubbed-brick semi-circular arch rises above
verandah roof. Above is a 6/3-pane sash with projecting sill and
cambered arch; inserted casements to right. 2-bays set forward
on right have large 12-pane sashes in reeded surrounds with
awnings. 12-pane sashes above have rubbed-brick cambered arches.
Dentilled eaves to shallow-pitched, hipped roofs with tall brick
stacks.
Left return: projecting sills and rubbed-brick cambered arches
over one 12-pane sash and three 6/3-pane sashes; some blind
windows; cellar steps on left. Right return: margin-glazed
door; panelled door to basement. Interior not inspected.
Ground floor windows boarded-up at time of survey.
