Shown on OS map as Elm Cottage. School, now dwelling. Early C19, restored 1930s. Roughcast over rubble, thatched roofs with clay ridge tiles, half- hipped at gable ends of main block, brick: stack between first and second bays right of main block. Plan: site slopes away to south, entrance on north front via outshot to central block; setback flanking wings. North front: one and a half storeys with single storey wings, 1:4:1 bays, gable fronted outer bays with tall leaded mullioned and transomed windows with glazed gable tops, bell above right hand window, main block similar small windows rising from eaves line, ground floor with random rubble wall swept up to 4 finials and central gabled entrance masking outshot, 2 pointed arch head windows, central gabled porch with shaped head. Left return, similar window gable end with ground floor canted bay window with astragal leading. Garden front: 2-bay gable fronted wings flanking main block with 2 dormers, C20 porches in penultimate bays glazed door end bay left, the line of the verandah that formerly fronted the whole facade is still visible, Interior not seen, The windows are similar to those in Hedges (q.v.), Clayhanger. An unusual composition of attractive design in the picturesque trandition. Clay ridge tiles introduced in late 1970's when roof rethatched.
