Details
HILDENBOROUGH RIDING LANE (east side) TQ 54 NE 5/204 Hollanden Park Farmhouse 9.7.73 II
Farmhouse. Probably early C17. Framed construction underbuilt in Flemish bond brick with blue headers, first floor tile-hung; peg-tile roof; brick stack.
Plan: Details unclear at time of survey as access to the interior was unobtainable. West facing. From the exterior the house appears to be a classic 3 room lobby entrance plan, the 2 right hand (south) rooms heated from back-to-back fireplaces in an axial stack. Rear outshut.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 4 window front, roof half-hipped at ends; axial stack with staggered shafts and a corbelled brick cornice. C20 porch with a hipped roof on rustic posts to right of centre with a C19 panelled front door. To the left of the porch the ground floor is blind. 2 probably early C20 tripartite sashes to ground floor right, 12 panes in the centre, 4 in the outer lights. 4 first floor 3- and 4-light C19 small pane casements.
Interior: Inaccessible at time of survey, but likely to retain features of interest, including a C17 roof. An internal inspection might necessitate revising the suggested dating.
