Old Water House

Water house. Early C18. Designed by and built for Sir Thomas
Parkyns of Bunny Hall. Red brick, some blue brick, ashlar and
rubble. Pyramidal brick roof topped with ashlar millstone.
Rubble plinth. Small square structure, single storey, single
bay. East and west sides with single segmental arched openings
at ground level. East, west and north sides each with 2 slit
ventilators. South side has a segmental arched doorway with
ashlar hinge and wooden lock blocks. Interior formerly held
water over whole of floor to a probable depth of about 2 feet.
Sir Thomas Parkyns Bart. (c.1662-1741) carried out improvements
to and rebuilt almost all of Bunny to his own designs.
