House. Mid C18 with 1843 extension. Whitewashed render. Some
ashlar. Chamfered painted quoins. Painted brick plinth. Slate
roof. 2 large red brick ridge stacks. Ashlar coped right gable
with kneeler, kneeler only to former left gable. Modillion
cornice. 2 storeys plus attic, 4 bays. Doorway with part glazed
door, marginal lights and segmental fanlight extending over all.
All set into an elliptical archway. To the right are 2 glazing
bar sashes and to the left a single similar sash with 4 similar
sashes above. In the attic are 4 hipped slate dormers each with
single small glazing bar sash. To the left is a 2 storey, single
bay rendered 1843 extension, on a plinth, with slate roof, hipped
to the left behind a parapet, and single red brick stack to the
right. Projecting single bay with single tripartite glazing bar
sash, iron balustrade over with low glazing bar sash on the first
floor. Interior with chamfered beams and salt cupboard. The
Grange is said to have originally been a dower house of the Hall.
