GV II

Rectory. Datestone 1694. Built by the Rector John Knight. 2-storey bow window to rear 1820 after design by S.P. Cockerell. 1842 new offices and kitchens by H.J. Underwood of Oxford. Regular coursed ironstone rubble. Steeply pitched Welsh slate roof. 2 stone stacks to valley. Double depth plan. 2 storeys; 5-window range. Central C19 porch has flat hood and square panelled wooden columns. 2 sash windows either side. Right end has 2-light stone mullioned window to cellar. 5 sashes to first floor. All windows in flush wooden frames. Stone copings and stone kneelers. Rear extension: Ashlar, Welsh slate roof. 2-storey bow window has 3 round-headed windows to ground floor and sashes to first floor. C19 wing to right of main elevation has sash windows. Interior: Noted as having C17 varnished panelling, staircase with square newels, moulded balusters and closed strings. Photographs in N.M.P.
