House. c.1710, converted to public house c.1830, converted to 2 houses 1905. Timber framed.
Faced with brick and given clay-lump rear outshut c.1870; pantiled roof. Lobby entrance plan.
2 storeys; 2-window range. Central half-glazed door with 2-light casement to left. Similar door
to right of elevation with 3-light casement to its left. 2 first-floor 2-light casements, that to right
replaced 1955 the details otherwise of c.1870. Steeply-pitched gabled roof with central ridge
stack. Rear with full-length clay lump outshut on brick plinth. Rear roof slope with one
flat-topped dormer inserted 1955. INTERIOR. Ground floor with partly exposed timber
studwork. 2 heavy bridging beams terminating in tongue stops. Inglenook fireplaces blocked
and fitted with early C20 tiled fireplaces. No.2 with C18 plank rear door on strap hinges
opening into outshut. No.2 with straight staircase fight to right (west) of stack. Similar bridging
beams to first floor. Roof with principal and common rafters, one tier of clasped purlins,
cambered collars and ridge piece.
