2. Range of buildings substantially the work of G E Street, commenced in 1865, but with some later alterations, especially by A E Street. Main assembly forms a quadrangle withcloister and chapel to the north side. Mainly 2 storeys, ashlar stone in Gothic style, mullioned windows, asymmetrical gabled and dormered elevations, red tiled roof. Cloister in distinctive Early English style, recently glazed in. Chapel 1879-1885. Street considered this to be one of his finest works, and the proportions are indeed good. In plan aisless nave, chancel and eastern Lady Chapel. High nave with long slender windows, 1-light windows in chancel, and a long even tiled roof. Slim and high tower with saddleback roof. Interior somewhat severe, but dignified. Remarkable for massive, detached, black Irish marble columns in chancel. Original reredos. Lady Chapel (retro chapel) vaulted in three by three bays in Early English styleo Small vaulted eastern apse with plain glazed lancets. The Guest House south east of the tower has a timber framed upper part. This is by A E Street 1889, but to his father's original plans.
