2. C1830. Purpose built as a combined town gaol and residence of the Town Constable. 2 parallel ranges. 2 storeys red brick with some vitrified headers. 2 gables with stone coping. Tiled roof. 1st floor has 2 casement windows with cambered head linings. The Ground floor has 1 sash with glazing bars and cambered head lining and, onthe right hand side, a diamond-shaped opening with iron grille which was the opening to the cell-simple doorcase with studded door and modern weather hood on brackets. Historical interest.
