II
House. C17 incorporating the remains of a late medieval cruck framed house; C18 longitudinal extension and minor C19 extensions to the rear; restored 1986. Timber framed with brick infill panels and red brick extensions; plain tile roofs; brick ridge stacks. Two-framed bay lobby-entry plan aligned east-west facing south with C18 extension to the east on the same alignment.

Two storeys with four tiers of square panels. Three window front, C20 windows incorporating C19 casement, C20 canted bay window to ground floor centre. C20 porch to right with hipped plain tile roof. Slightly lower C18 extension to the right of one storey and attic. Two C20 gabled dormers, ground floor casement with segmental head.

Interior: in the common wall between the C17 and C18 phases are a pair of late medieval crucks with massive saddle at the apex (Alcock type C). This is probably the centre truss of an earlier house and the C18 extension may represent a rebuilding of part of it, for it's apex is at the same level as that of the cruck truss. In the hall of the C17 house are a large sandstone fireplace with chamfered and stopped timber bressumer, chamfered and stopped spine beam and joists, and there are indications that there was a bench fixed against the west partition wall facing the fireplace. Several C17 oak doors. Curved wind braces.
